IGTV ("Instagram TV") was Instagram‘s long-form video format, launched in 2018 as a standalone app and later merged into the main Instagram app. In 2022, Instagram officially rebranded IGTV as simply "Instagram Video" and merged it with in-feed videos under a single tab. But the old /tv/ URL format still works — millions of IGTV links are still shared every month, and the underlying videos are still hosted on Instagram’s CDN.
FastDL App supports all of these: old /tv/ links (classic IGTV), newer /reel/ links (Reels, up to 90 seconds), and unified /p/ video posts. The downloader auto-detects the format from the URL and fetches the original HD MP4. For old IGTV links specifically, the file you get is the full-length original video — usually 1080p vertical MP4 with AAC audio.
If you are not sure whether a video is technically a Reel, IGTV or in-feed video post — it does not matter. Paste the URL on this page and FastDL App will figure it out. The download is the same: original HD MP4, no watermark, no recompression.
How to download long IGTV videos without losing quality
IGTV videos can run up to 60 minutes, which means file sizes can hit 500MB+ for HD content. FastDL App handles these without issue. Here is the workflow:
- Step 1 — Copy the IGTV URL: Tap the three dots (•••) on the video and choose "Copy link". The URL will look like instagram.com/tv/CxYz12345/.
- Step 2 — Paste on this page: Open fastdlapp.pro/igtv and paste the URL into the input box. The tool auto-detects it's an IGTV video.
- Step 3 — Press Download: FastDL App fetches the full HD MP4 from Instagram's CDN. For 60-minute videos this takes 1–3 seconds of extraction time.
- Step 4 — Save the MP4: Tap Download and the file streams directly from Instagram to your device. A 30-minute HD video typically downloads in 30–90 seconds on a 50 Mbps connection.
Why does IGTV download faster than other tools?
Most IGTV downloaders proxy the video through their own server, which means a 500MB file is downloaded twice — once from Instagram to their server, then again from their server to you. This is slow, expensive for them, and often triggers server-side rate limits that cap your download at 5–10 Mbps. FastDL App uses a direct-from-CDN architecture: we extract the CDN URL on our backend, then your browser downloads the file directly from Instagram. One hop, full speed.
On a 100 Mbps connection, a 30-minute HD IGTV video typically downloads in 15–40 seconds through FastDL App — versus 2–5 minutes on proxy-based downloaders. The speed difference is even more pronounced for 4K and high-bitrate content.
Another advantage: because the file goes directly from Instagram to you, FastDL App never has to handle the bandwidth. This means we can stay free forever — we do not have to pay for CDN egress on a 500MB video you downloaded. The ads on this page cover our backend extraction costs, which are tiny.
Can I download IGTV on iPhone and watch it offline?
Yes. On iOS 13 and later, after tapping Download on fastdlapp.pro/igtv, Safari opens the MP4 in a new tab. Long-press on the video and choose "Save Video" — it lands in your Photos app. From there, you can watch it offline in Photos, share it via AirDrop, or move it to iCloud Drive.
For very long IGTV videos (45+ minutes), iOS sometimes truncates the save if your device is low on storage. Check your available storage before downloading — a 60-minute HD video takes about 400–600MB. If you want to keep the file but not in Photos, choose "Save to Files" instead, which puts it in iCloud Drive or local storage.
On Android, the workflow is even simpler: tap Download, the file goes straight to your Downloads folder. Open the Files app to find it, or use any video player (VLC, MX Player, the stock player) to watch offline.
